about corbas

Started in 1988 by founders Basul Parik and Corky Engel, CORBAS drew upon Basul's history with Fantasy Records and Bill Graham along with Corkys knowledge of the newly emerging computer-based video editing field. Together they have done many projects ranging from artists Yuri Gorbachev and Reginald Pollack, many local variety shows, local talent and legal projects for local attorneys.

about panographs

With the advent of digital photography, the ability to "paint" with the camera was born. The artist is able to view the subject and then selectively brush those elements onto a digital "canvas". Highlighting only those areas that convey the idea and leaving out those elements that may detract. Not only do these express, I believe, the rapid, jumbled and dense world of information available to all of us living in this age, they also express an element of time. Some of these works required anywhere from 20 minutes to well over an hour to photograph. Consequently, one can see this passage of time illustrated in the bits and pieces of people that appear, by the changing sky and surrounding environment.

These images are best viewed when printed large (like 5'x8' large). They can contain anywhere from 20 to 150 individual megapixel images. If you are interested in showing or purchasing any of the over 400 images currently available, please feel free to contact Corky.

Thanks for viewing.
